Meet Marc Marmel
Traveling down the Côte d’Azur, entertainment executive Marc Marmel was waiting at the airport when he observed a parade of the same conventional luxury travel pieces going by on the conveyor belt, one after the other. It was then that an inspired idea hit him. “Why not create a chic alternative to these traditional logoed and labeled brands? A line of high-end travel goods that already look like they have traveled the world, having a thousand stories to tell.” Modeling his collection with this twist on iconic European brands of the 19th and 20th Century, he saw a niche that his aesthetic vision could fulfill for discerning travelers worldwide. Travelers accustomed to private jets, first class service and five-star hotels.
Inspired by the Golden Age of Travel, every design from the Marc Marmel collection looks like a vintage treasure discovered in your grandparent’s attic or a Parisian antique fair. Each item is handmade in the U.S. with Marc’s signature Italian cracked leather juxtaposed with rich and vibrant silk brocade linings. No two pieces crack alike making each creation as unique as a fingerprint. Each piece from the collection will age exquisitely with use, thus creating an even more weathered and personalized patina throughout its journey in time.
Since its inception, the brand’s appeal took off right away. Marc won the “Rising Star Award” from Fashion Group International as Designer of the Year.
Stores such as Barneys, Bergdorf Goodman, Harrods, Holt Renfrew, Lane Crawford, Matches Fashion, Maxfield and Podium positioned the collection alongside all the biggest names in luxury. Part of the brand’s philosophy has been to work with the leading luxury retailers throughout the world.
Prestigious publications including Angeleno, Bride & Bloom, British GQ, C Magazine, Conde Nast, Elle, Flaunt, Genlux, GQ, Haute Living, Huffington Post, Item, Joker, LA Confidential, LA Magazine, L’Officiel Hommes, Los Angeles Magazine, Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Riveria, Tatler, Tennis Magazine, Toronto Globe and Mail, Vanity Fair, Vivre, Vogue (German, British, Italian), and Women’s Wear Daily featured Marc Marmel in editorials and interviews.
